Here Comes The Rain Again (England vs. India Preview Part 2)

I am still keeping up with the music theme just as the rain seems persistent to hog all the attention of the Lords Test match. The song “Here Comes The Rain Again” by Eurythmics seems appropriate.

At the time of writing this England won the toss, has taken two wickets and both the teams are off the field for rain but may come back soon. Despite this I do not think I am behind the curve. In my initial preview about the match I did say that Woakes would come in instead of Ali and that it would be fascinating if Kuldeep Yadav comes in for Umesh Yadav.

The changes made have hit England more than India. This shows how important Ben Stokes is to England. These changes also mean that based on my index India lead England despite India ending lower than England at the first Test and never being ahead of England in the match.

At the start of the match this is how the team performances are. I have not accounted for what has happened so far in the second test.

In the first graph, I am using a simple system where the integer represents the Test match and the decimal the innings. England is in dark blue and India in light blue.

Batsmen

Bowlers

Top Performers

The players I have chosen are only those who are playing in today’s match. I think that a lot of pressure will be on Pujara and Pope.

Here is the Eurythmics song for those of you who haven’t heard it.
