2019

My goals for 2018 seemed to be extremely intangible and philosophical. This year I need it to be more tangible. The main reason for this is that I know that I will be doing some heavy introspection in my life. This is what I would like to see in 2019

Blogging

1) I would like to write at least two articles a month on mental health.

2) I will continue with my Cricket Portfolio Index. I will try to be more prompt though. I am currently two posts and three games behind.

3) I intentionally avoided writing about investments and politics in 2018. I will be writing about finance and investments this year. I hope to do at least one a month.

4) I would like to get 2,750 views this year.

5) I want to continue blogging about writing. I am not sure how frequent this would be.

Writing

I would like to do one Camp NaNoWriMo and NaNoWriMo this year. I want to work more on my novel. My initial idea though different in content and approach has a similar feel to Anthony Ryan’s Raven Shadow series. I want to make an attempt on the historical fiction novel I have in mind just so that I can get it out of the way.

Music

I have given up hope of playing my tenor saxophone because of my back. I want to restart playing my guitar. The tips of my fingers have lost their callus. I am not a masochist but I need my fingers to pain again. It makes me feel alive.

Health

I have not weighed myself recently but I would estimate that I would need to lose at least 20 kilos.

Things to look forward to

The first thing I am looking forward to this year is the launching of a blog by my wife. It will be a cookery blog. I am looking forward to the cricket this season. We have the Ashes and the World Cup in England. The pundits have all but given the trophies to England. My gut feeling is that it will not be that easy.

Brexit will be interesting. I also think that the financial markets are going to be fascinating. 2019 will see India go to the polls. The results of these elections should not affect the markets significantly as these events will get priced in earlier.

I will end with one of my favourite poems. Wishing all of you a Happy New Year. Finally a big thank you to Linda for organising Just Jot It.
