Camp NaNoWriMo has been a real learning process for me. I have written about 11,000 words. I have to write about 1,700 a day to get it done in time. I have part of my mythology set up which can be found here. I have introduced the mythology of a seafaring race of people but that needs some more work. I have started to slowly introduce the magic system I have in place. I have introduced all the recurring characters except for one. I have formed a good foundation for my story to be built on. Now I have to actually build on the main idea that I have. I have realised that I am a person who likes reading and rewriting what I do. I have lost word count in the process but my story feels better. I really hope I can finish my target by the end of the month. If I cannot then I have a base for NaNoWriMo and give myself the NaNo rebel badge in November.
I tried my first NaNoWriMo last year and managed only about 5,000 words of the project so I appreciate how challenging it is. For Camp NaNoWrimo I set myself a much smaller goal – to finish a short story I had started many months ago and abandoned. Yesterday I achieved that goal, although there’s work to be done in the revision/editing stage. It was an absolute bear – the words didn’t come easily at all but I stuck with it. Sounds like you’ve got a pretty good foundation and a pretty good start on things. Keep on going! It’d be great to see you reach your goals too.

Good luck! 1700 a day is quite a lot…

A little bit too much. I cut down my target to 15,000 words. 350 words per day should still be manageable with paracetamol.
